Interesting digital divide among football fans. A study of Twitter during the Super Bowl showed that New York Giants fans much more likely to Tweet than New England Patriot fans. Giants fans out-tweeted Patriot fans 72% to 28% according to a survey by Colle+McVoy (as reported in Star Tribune article of 2/7/12 “Which Ads Won Twitter Bowl?”). WHY this difference? New Yorkers much more digital savvy than New Englanders? Giants fans into multi-tasking while Patriot fans kept their eyes glued to the game, not wanting to be distracted by Twitter?
